A Voz Limpia - Su Gente

Since 2025

A Voz Limpia is a collective of writers, musicians, and poets in Naarn (Melbourne), Australia. They write (mostly) in Spanish, though also in other languages. The collective publishes an anthology each year, compiling texts shared during their monthly events. The events are free and open mic. They have been building community and literature for over ten years.

A Voz Limpia - Su Gente is an ongoing multimedia project. In it, I document the participants of this collective, primarily Latin American and Spanish artists living in Australia, through interviews. Combining photographic portraits, transcripts, audio and video recordings, this series captures the creative journeys of poets, musicians, and visual artists, exploring themes of migration, cultural identity, and artistic expression. Each conversation is a window into the ways these creatives navigate their dual heritage, the creative process, and their connection to place. By preserving these stories in multiple formats, A Vos Limpia - Su Gente serves as both an archive and a dialogue, an evolving testament to the power of art to shape identity across borders.
