My Books
I am part of the Latin American community living in Naarn (Melbourne), Australia.
Like many immigrants, I move between places; one foot in Australia, the other in Argentina, but my soul is everywhere.
I use photography and poetry as a way to express my experience of the world and my connection to landscapes, their people, and their cultures.
My books are layers of experiences, family stories, people's tales, and ancestral songs—the voice of the landscape, its plants, and animals.
Picture By Silvi GlattauerIn an interview for SBS Español with Esther Lozano, she writes (translated from Spanish):
With his work, Daniel speaks to the Latin American immigrant in his unresolved duality of coming and going between the place where he was born and this land, like a pendulum that swings between two countries. When asked if nostalgia is a feeling that reflects loss or gain, Sacchero assures that "that fact of wanting the place where we were born or live, is something positive because having these two places that pull our soul makes us grow, learn and experience things that others cannot.

Distancia Cero is a journey that spans various times, latitudes, dimensions. Daniel Sacchero transports us to landscapes of the Southern Cone and Australia, immerses us in rivers of silver, makes us climb volcanoes, jump peninsulas, play hopscotch, look nostalgia in the face and contemplate the fire that renews.
In the pages of this book lives a childhood in Buenos Aires, the breath of original myths and the paths that guide the swing of time. Pages, photographs that illuminate memory and dissipate distance. A voice that spreads through our thinking to break down borders.
This poem has no verses. Zero distance is the vivid noise of the streets, the mystery of the rituals, the touch of the mountain and the sky, the green memory of the forests, a grain of sand supporting the seas. Daniel Sacchero reminds us that there are no distances, only journeys.
