Southern Sea

Meter by meter we moved away

kilometer by kilometer

we were rediscovering

re-imagining.

I dreamed, you dreamed

of essentially others

different people

indifferent to time

at that moment things

they didn't look like what they were

nor were they, what they seemed.

A south wind

brought a thunderous swell

the waves climbed the rocks of the shore

a dark

veil swallowed the horizon

only the dark green of the sea remained

and the white-grey of the surf.

Two people,

facing the sea

vulnerable, unprotected,

uncertain,

together embracing life

looking for a little light
