And we got together, in the thousands, and we took over the street, and flocks of birds joined the clamour, the drumrolls and the chanting, and we marched from the steps of the State Library, remembering that libraries in Gaza are now rubble, like hospitals, like schools, like houses and apartments, and we marched South towards the river, towards the shrine, to cleanse our anger and frustration, to fight their lies and our silence, and marching together we regained some of our humanity, we remembered the thousands, mostly civilians, killed by a professional armed force, we remembered the people starved to death by the cruelty of a government, we remembered the journalists killed in pursuit of the truth, we recalled the names of the serial liars, and most of all we remembered and we will keep remembering this genocide.
Jews and Arabs, Israelis and Palestinians have a right to live in peace, in their lands, side by side. Only then we will have regained our collective humanity, in peace.
